Das E-Book

How to Berlin: Das E-Book is a guide for newcomers to Berlin who have decided to stay longer than three months, as well as for those who have been here for a while but have a question about an element of Berlin bureaucracy.

When I arrived at Berlin’s Schönefeld Airport in 2007, I spoke roughly three words of conversational German taught to me by a Polish girl in France. I could therefore tell you my name with beautifully rolled r’s, but I couldn’t understand or read anything.

I’ve now lived in Berlin for four years. I speak German, I’m almost finished with my MA degree from the Freie Universität Berlin, I live in my own apartment with my name on the mailbox, and I have a freelance English teaching visa.

How to Berlin gives my firsthand account of how I got my job, my visa and my apartment in Berlin. I’ll tell you how I accomplished all of these steps, and I’ll give you tips to expedite the process, so you don’t have to go through everything I did.

While all of the information given is subject to change, I also offer email updates to anyone who purchases any version of this guide. If something changes and I find out about it, you’ll hear about it too if you email me with UPDATES in the subject line.

The PDF guide is $10, or 7 €, and is around 40 pages with 16 pt (easy to read) font. Click below to purchase How To Berlin.
